It Works! Actually, it really does!

So my good friends Dale and his wife recently starting working with the people at It Works. The It Works products go far beyond what I thought when he first told me about them. I thought it would be similar to most diet type of things but, actually goes more into the health and beauty side of things. They do have some edible products such as their Greens line which are some great powders you can mix in with water or juice. I, personally, don’t often go for these and would rather do a smoothie or protein shake, however they do taste pretty good and you can feel the energizing effects for a while

It Works also has lotions and things for your skin lots of vitamin packs as well as some supplements. These were things that I know a few women have tried, as well as Dale’s wife (obviously) and so far it’s been great results. A lot of the results can be seen within minutes. The effects lasted a good day or two for each application, which was pretty good considering a little goes a long way with all of them.

The most impressive item to me that they have is the body wrap. It literally looks like a wide, long strand of thing gauze. However, I was truly shocked by the effects. I did try this myself and I just can’t gush enough about it. It firms and lightens any area you put it on. They have different types of applications and the more you use it, truly the longer it lasts. You can get to a point where you could use it a couple of times a month and keep the tightened skin look that it gives you pretty easily. It’s also easy to apply and you don’t have to leave it on long. The thing really is kind of a miracle for your skin. If you doubt anything else on there try the wrap and you’ll be sold!

Restaurant Secret Recipes

So ok like many of us I find eating out to be something that is difficult unless it’s something you are doing for a special occasion and you are “throwing away the day”. It’s not always the cost that is prohibitive but we all know how much butter and salt restaurants use in their food….or should I say we’re afraid to ask! I like to indulge like anyone else but there are times I’m craving something from Carrabba’s or Outback….even Olive Garden but I know that it’s not going to be “healthy” for the most part. At least not the dishes I want :) I had seen this on one of those Good Morning America shows a while ago and forgot about it before coming across it again.

After finding it again I decided to give it a try. I found a place to get it on this site and they even give you a sample one for free if you put in your email. There are some pretty damn good finds in here. Naturally I found that I had to “rethink” them to make them better for me. It’s amazing how using a little less butter, a little less salt, etc can really make a difference in balancing out the health perspective and the taste. I would not suggest omitting all the fat and salt, etc that these recipes use. If you are going to do that you might as well just get a “healthy” frozen dinner from the freezer section. The taste would be a bit better than that….but not by a lot.


It was not difficult at all to adapt these recipes to a way that made them taste just as good but not be as bad for you. I would suggest checking it out you can get the recipe book here

So I have been looking into all of the “diets” that are out there, and naturally there are a LOT of them. I have been most interested in the Paleo diet as I find the concept of it pretty intriguing. It was actually my boss that got me interested in it. She had been doing it for a while and like anybody on a diet, particularly a newer one she talked about it a lot :). So in joining on with this website I decided to give it a try. It’s not all about reducing carbs but really it’s about not eating processed foods which most professionals will tell you to stay away from anyway. The Paleo is all about eating what you could eat if you were a caveman or woman.

There are lots of different ways of starting out any diet of course but I prefer to get on either a program or with a recipe book. I started out at 1000 Paleo Recipes. I liked there’s because it’s cheap (under 30 bucks now) and you can download it multiple times and on multiple platforms.

Not every single recipe is appealing and obviously being so many I haven’t tried them all but the fact that they have smoothie and snack on the go recipes was a HUGE bonus in my book. I’ll also point out the single biggest surprise, but now my favorite thing is they actually have recipes for sauces and condiments. You can only eat so many chicken breasts before you are longing for something new lol. The sauces section saved the whole thing in my opinion.

Guilt Free Desserts Cook Book

Yeah yeah, I’m with you I’ve seen lots of things that show stuff about how you can bake “guilt free” and it tastes great and “you’d never know”. I’m with you, yeah right. I’ve tried a LOT of recipes to make things either fat free (which usually just means more sugar) or sugar free which makes it taste disgusting.  To me one of the worst things I’ve found with desserts that aren’t healthy but someone has tried to find a way to make them healthy such as brownies and cookies is that they are super dry. There’s little to no flavor from the original dessert and the texture is way off.

I found this book from Guilt Free Desserts and was as skeptical as you, if not more since I’d already tried so many of these types of books. This one claims to have diabetic friendly and gluten free recipes. I also didn’t care much for their website as it seems very generic but in joining with the guys here at our site I figured I had try anything I could find to give the good and the bad.

At this time I haven’t tried all the recipes and there are a couple I probably won’t try because it’s not my type of food. However, I have tried the chocolate chip cookies, the Flourless chocolate cake and the coconut macaroons. While I don’t think the chocolate chip were going to be on my new top 10 favorite list they actually weren’t bad.  The flourless chocolate cake and the macaroons however….I was really surprised. These were really good! I’ll throw in some others later when I have time but considering it’s under 30 bucks for a cookbook that specializes in some of the newer health crazes it’s worth the buy.
